Default Working on a mid-engine car

While I'm not new to H-T, this is my first post in this forum. Just wondering the degree of difficulty for normal maintenance on your cars. I previously owned an Integra GS-R and i've done simple things, change oil/trans fluids, replace my radiator, shocks/springs, even installed my own short shifter with bushings which was a PIA! I know it's not the same, and I'm guessing that most of the owners here have their own specialized NSX-tech that handles all maintenance issues. Is maintenance extremely expensive? I really don't mind, my last car was a GS300 and they charged an arm and a leg for the Timing belt change. I just want to know what I would be getting into should I decide to go the NSX route. Thanks!

I think there are some threads on NSX Prime that go over the costs for routine maintenance. I have not found it to be a difficult car to work on unless you have to R&R the engine, which is kind of a pain without a real lift.

its not as hard as you expect, after buying my 91 nsx with 104k miles. i was told that i had to change out my TB just in case since the previous owner did not do anything for maintenance. so i changed out my TB, water pump, plugs, gaskets, re valved, myself. if you have the time and are willing to learn its easy. if you need help go to www.nsxprime.com and search around, thats what i did. good luck!

All I remember about mid engine, was that it takes for ever to cool down. Had an MR2 Turbo, and couldn't touch the engine for a good couple hours! However, uncle has a GT40 and that thing is easy as pie to work on.
