I was just wondering if anyone on here has an auto NSX? Ive seen a few for sale in my area and am just wondering if the autos are any fun? or would it more of a "just for show" kind of car at that point?

My NSX has a manual transmission. However, I've known plenty of owners with automatics. (They constitute somewhere around 9 percent of total sales.) Reasons for getting automatics vary - people who daily drive, frequently in stop-and-go rush hour traffic; people with physical handicaps/difficulties; people who never learned how to drive stick; etc. I've even heard of people autocrossing and/or tracking automatics. (Remember, the suspension, brakes, etc are still the same.) As far as I'm concerned, it's one of those "whatever floats your boat" things; if you prefer an automatic, get one (just like if you prefer a manual, get one).

 

I have an automatic nsx 92 and I drive it somewhat everyday. It is fun to drive and my lady can drive it also. Its not as fast as my stick 91 nsx but its ok to drive. I love it!!!!!!!

 

I test drove an automatic NSX a few yrs ago. I liked it.

 

It seems like it would be less fun to drive an auto NSX. But thats just me.

 

buy an auto for cheaper than a 5 speed, and convert it to 6speed!

I drove an auto from a car lot years ago and it drove like an Accord IMO.

As a general rule, the savings on buying an automatic NSX aren't enough to pay for the transmission swap. So you may as well buy an NSX that already has the transmission you want.

Are you really going to go with that defense? Seriously?

If that's true, why would you feel compelled to first point out they made them if your intent was merely to say that auto trans were stupid? That is implicit; it doesn't make any sense.

Second, any reasonable person would interpret the grammatical structure of your sentence (spelling aside) to mean you were (a) telling him they made auto trannys and (b) referring to him as 'stupid.'

Think on it for a while and try again. . . blame society, blame our educational system, blame MTV, blame president Bush; nearly anything would be more plausible.

 

I can understand that an auto is not for most enthusiasts, but I don't see how the availability of this option is a bad thing. I think Clay Regazzoni would agree. (video)

If you specifically need or want an auto, get one. Otherwise, just get the manual.

 

You should get an Auto if you don't want Vin Diesel to make fun of your "Granny Shifting".
