For 00-01 I believe the ECU is also different due to updated emissions regulation

And the ECU is part of the immobilizer system, which was not offered in 97-98.
97-98 ITR's were CW, 2000-01 ITR's were either PY or NBP/FBP.

Engine wise: Better bhp, higher CR, re-ampped ECU, better Intake manifold.

Chassis wise: Better brakes, suspension, trailing arms, HID lights.

But as the guys say use the search, you have to use it very precisely to get the answers you require.

Sorry I couldn't give figures, just gave you the basics.

BTW go easy on him

Really?
Not true for the US models except for the cams and different ECU plug & OBD 2 version for emissions.

Better HP?
Higher compression ratio?
Better intake manifold?
Better brakes?
Better suspension/trailing arms?
We've never got STD HIDs in this country!!!

When did Honda switch to OBD 2? I thought all ITR's were obd 2.
And as far as upgrades, the 97 JDM ITR Did receive..
HID's
16 inch wheels
Larger diameter brakes
5 lug suspension
something else im forgetting.. :errr

Yeah, unfortunately I believe the original poster was referring to USDM spec cars, accordingly ... there were no significant changes other than those I listed above, and a light body style tweak in 98.
