What is wrong here?
Yesterday I got an message from a friend about 2 cars with BC3+ cams and camgears had broken off their timing belt. Since I also have that combination he recommend me too check it out.
Here is what I found when i removed the valve cover

And, the solution

But, what is wrong. Is there possible something is done wrong when it was installed, or is it the cams and cam gears?
Luckily my car haven't been used as much as the 2 other cars. I reckon the same thing would happen with at some point..

I've seen this before... Its just something that happens with aftermarket cams. Your solution was the same thing that everyone has done, that I've witnessed.
ive seen this a couple times.. when ive seen it its been due to time and heat changing the mold and causes them to rub up on the cam ear or the water pump on older acura CLs with 4 bangers in them.. i see it almost every other time i do a timing belt at acura.. im a tech there....
