What are worthwhile upgrades
Hey Guys,
I've done the basics i/h/e...but I want more!!!
What are good upgrates?? I was thinking cams and stuff but some people are saying the type r stuff is damn good as is. Same goes for suspension and stuff.
Any Ideas??? Oh ya...I wanted to stay NA for now...Forced induction is a whole other thing.

Same thinking as far as what i/h/e?
Personally, I go with
Mugen Intake/Toda 4-2-1 header/T1R full catback w/ Carsound high flow cat
EDIT:
Plus ATS 4.9 Final Drive in USDM tranny.

The R comes very well balanced mechanically and chasis wise from the factory. It is easy to upset this balance without knowing the fundamentals of such upgrades.
I know from experience that I cannot leave well enough alone. I have a problem with that.
It is also important to look at the ulitmate goal with what you want out of these upgrades and also what your budget is.

+1 Join us at Expo and test your limits with a stock R first.

If there arnt any local tracks around you, do the suspension next ... you will improve handling, and the car will look a lot better. The stock height of the car makes it look weird and the front is higher then the back.
but if I could find a track that was local, I would rather pay for track time

Seat time!!!!!!
Then mod the car when your outdriving it.
The car in stock form is more than capable and proably will push the limits of most drivers, rather than the limits of the car until you really get used to it.
From there, I/H/E tune, then 4.9 FD, then sussy work.

As said before - depends on your objectives. I would suggest however, you spend some quality time with the car in stock form to get a better idea of it's strengths and weaknesses. If AX or Track is in your future, then I strongly suggest running stock (for a while) in order to understand what proper chassis tuning / balance is all about. Once you have a good baseline, then you can make intelligent mod decisions.
