What to do?
Ok, This is probably going to be a little long. Last Thursday I got the R back from the shop after getting a Exedy Clutch and Fidanza flywheel in. During install the shop calls me and tells me the bottom bolt for the Rear mount is stripped and it broke taking part of the tranny with it, but the top bolt was still in place. I asked if there is anything serious that will happen if not fixed immediately; there response was "you might get a little movement from the motor."
A week later (tonight) after having the clutch broken in I decide to see how the new flywheel helped the revving. So I step on it in 1st and didn't jam 2nd hard and I hear a loud clunk and my friend says he felt something hit under the car on the floor boards. So has I am driving normally the shifter was moving alot on decleration. I go back to the road I went down and there in the middle of the road was a piece of my tranny, pop the hood and the top bolt of the mount snapped clear off the tranny.
So after done venting.... What to do?

you're not going to want to hear this...
But you're sort of at fault. If you knew there was a problem and you asked immediatly.. aka basicly saying you'll get it fixed soon... probably wasn't the smartest idea to get on it before fixing it...
The shop wont do a damn thing for you but say..damn..that sucks dude

No. I don't think you have a legal basis for taking it up. Never leave a shop until you are 100% satisfied with the work they have done. I have learned that one the hard way with Speedware's crap-*** work on a seat mount fabrication job for me.
I think you should have told them then and there that you wanted that stuff replaced since they broke it. Now it's too late.
JMO -- and sorry man.

wasn't their fault... If bolts are over torqued or just from the heat after a while will cause it to get weak and snap.... Same happens to studs on a wheel.. I've snapped a few of those in my time.... and other bolts on the undercarrige.. hell one snapped and I went forward and about knocked myself out on a leaf spring
But if he was a major pain in their *** i'm sure they would have gotten him a new bolt... but only at the time they called him to let him know... at least they let him know!! I've been to a few shops that I doubt they would ever let the customer know!

Hrm? They broke the bolt, which took part of the tranny with it (take a look at his first post). It's not just the bolt. It's also the tranny that they damaged. That is most definitely their fault... wouldn't you agree?

i really question some of these "shops," that people seem to be going to now.
if this is that big PITA triangle rear mount i think it is, this sounds like laziness to me. my guess would be they crossthreaded the bolt, didn't have another one, and figured it'd be ok to leave it with just one. iirc, this is the only mount in the rear of the car, and with just one bolt in there, the engine is actually able to rotate on the single bolt, and put an absurd about of load on the one bolt that's left under acceleration.
that's my uneducated guess.

those guys are at fault, there is no heat in the tranny to fuse bolts into the aluminum. Retards probably used tq750 gun cranked full for good measure.
Rear mount is the main tq mount on the engine, it does most of the work. You might as well go and buy new tranny... Or pay some good money to have this welded, maybe by the same shop

You might be able to have the piece welded if it didn't get banged up. It would be much cheaper than finding a new housing.
You can try to see if the shop will fix it, worst thing that will happen is they say no.

Yes, but dont those bolts go into the tranny itself? Not the bellhousing? I also would think that its the shops fault, although you took the fault off of them when you drove the car away.....

Apparently they **** those things up alot.
Honda stripped one of my tranny bolts and left no bolt in it rather then fixing it.
IM like WTF kinda people you have working for you?
They fixed it needless to say.
Mine wasnt major like yours, but still stupid ****
