Default Using the Clock Display...

This may be the dumbest thought I've ever had, but then again, it just may be brilliant...

Is there any way to use the clock's digital display in the R as something other than time? Could it be rigged to display oil temp, accurate rpm, etc?

I haven't had time to look into this so I may be WAY out there...

It's possible, however not worth the hassle. You would need to obtain or build your own circuit using an rpm /pressure input with a new display IC or one compatible with the current. Besides, the LED display is only ## : ## format, not too useful.

you could always take the clock out and put something in it's place. I thought of doing that with my valentine 1 remote display.

Good idea. Think that would be a good place for a VAFC or would it be too far away?

I've seen both the valentine remote display, and a v-afc in the clock location. Very stealthy, very cool, and it is possible. IIRC someone on the board has done this, maybe put up a post, or go searching for pics.

I would imagine that an Apex rev-speed meter would fit pretty good. Those things are neat

Flux,

I think it would make a great shift light. Very stealth and it would be easy to do.
