Default UK CTR Website

This is R-Related, though not ITR... Just looked through the UK CTR website (http://www.redh.co.uk/). Under the Drive link on left side, they have a series of little videos that are mostly tips for driving a Type-R. First one is pretty cool which shows DC2R, Accord-R and EP3R side by side on track - nice little history. The tips are courtesy of a British race driver. My favorite vid is the one on VTEC where he explains the power peak is at 7400 rpm, so there is no need to rev the engine any higher than that ! I am somewhat shocked to find that kind of statement on a Honda website. Is it Honda 'protecting' their engines or just a stupid remark ?

I need to show the defensive driving video clip to my old lady. Maybe she'll learn something

If i remember correctly.. my dyno peaked out at around 7400. So yea there is really no gain going beyond that point...

Sure there is, because you have more power when you go into the next gear when you shift at 8400 the RPM's go down to 6k and you stay in Vtec. When you shift at 7400 they'll drop to like 5k and you're out of Vtec for a good period of time.
