Default Transmission Problems.

So its been a few weeks since I took apart the tranny. I notice the past few days 4th and 5th started whinning a little louder. Didn't think to much of it at the time but put a thought in my brain to check on it later. (I have a gst in the garage that I just dropped a motor in, should have it running as my new DD).

After pulling out of a driveway I notice some dripage on the pavement. Got out and sure enough tranny fluid. First thing went through my head damnit its leaking where the case mates which meants gotta drop the tranny. But it was my lucky day I cranked the wheel and took a look for anything obvious.

Its leaking around the passenger side axle. So yay, went up to dealer today and got some new seals. I did however add more fluid in that day (took a little more then 1/2 quart). Funny thing is that it wasn't leaking when I first started her up and drove. I guess its what I get for not replacing the seals.

So are you story telling or asking a question?

Yes, I sense that the GST will give shortly after it starts to run and your DD will be your ITR.

I know what you mean the honda is so much easier to work on compared to this dsm. Its a 6bolt, with 90 oil cooler, and will be running speed denisty instead of the karman bs. So hopefully this takes care of most of the stupid issues they have.

You should be set as long as you don't find a kitty in your fender. Cheers!

The whine is normal for the MF gears. If you have a knock, then you might need to replace your ISB. They will whine once they are really worn. ISB goes from a knock to a knock with whine, to a lot of ball bearings wreaking havoc on your trans internals.
