Thinking about getting a PY
I currently drive a Lexus IS 300, but I've always wanted an ITR. There's one for sale right now where I live:

$16,995? That seems like way too much for an ITR with 113,765 miles. It's all stock apparently, though.
If any of you have driven IS 300s, do you think going from an IS 300 to an ITR will be a good decision?

At least in a 01', it will have ice cold A/C.
OP, that price is about what you would pay for one with under 50k miles in pristine condition. Although, I don't know the market of Hawaii. It is probably spendy to buy a car and have it shipped from elsewhere, so your options are probably fairly limited. Definitely don't buy it to be a daily driver though.

Unless you have a garage to keep it every night...and a place to park at work that's within sight of your office window and out of sight of the main road...I'd avoid getting an ITR for a DD in HI. Parking at malls, movie theathers, etc is just asking for trouble. Theft is pretty strong there.
Not trying to **** on your parade, it's just a hard reality. The theft factor sucks. You may also want to check what will be your insurance rate with the R vs your Lexus.

The ride is fine it's the theft issue that makes it not so fun. I guess if you can seperate yourself from this it would work. I know I couldn't when I DD'd a PY
OP that PY is ridiculously clean. Try to talk the seller down and jump on it. Get a beater for DD'in or a decent car if it fits within your budget.

I have both cars. I love the Is300 for its comfort ride. So smooth my dd. The ITR, I just got a month ago with only 17000 miles. Yes very low mileage with no dents and ding 1 owner. I did pay a little more than 16000. I didnt mind the price because how clean it was and it was not heavily modified. That is my weekend car. I think the car is way too over price for mileage that high. I saw ITR for around 13 to 15'g that have lower mileage on them. Itr for a dd is sleepless. Just like the rest says. Cant really park it anywhere because of its high theft on it. It is also not a smooth ride like the is300 since the car is made for racing. you will here more noise while driving etc. I would wait to see if more ITR come across with a better deal.
That ITR is way too pricey.
I had both cars also, i just sold my ITR. Why don't you just keep the is300 and have both cars. For everyday driving i would rather drive the is300. Both of those cars are great to drive. The IS300 is just more convenient for everyday use. Bigger and more room to put crap.
I do love how smooth and light the steering is on the IS. Mine has LSD and i think that hows too.

This is the same ITR as this one.

Keep in mind folks that we're talking about Hawaii here.. ITR availability may be very limited over there and if the buyer were to really want one, it only makes sense that the priced carried a hefty premium.
That being said, it's still way too expensive! Is this the same one listed for sale on this forum? What are the possibilities of buying a Cali R and sending it back instead?

Buying one in CA is the way to go. Shipping out of Long Beach or San Diego would probably cost around $1200. The only thing is, you either have to know someone in SoCal or fly over. A round trip ticket costs around $800-900 depending on how much in advance you buy the ticket.

If that is in fact his old ITR, it might be worth getting in touch with him to get the real story on the car... not that the dealer is going to lie to you, no way.
It's a little known fact that we ALL secretly want CW, but some of the underlying differences just push us to get the fancy schmancy yellow or incognitoish black.
I personally think that any Honda with an "R" designation should've been championship white on the outside and **** red on the inside.
Getting back on topic, I wasn't able to find the ITR for sale in HI for around the same price w/ similar miles. I definitely saw it on here, maybe it was deleted? I thought it might've been the same car.

Everyone really wants a Phoenix Yellow ITR, because they want a color that is recognizable as a Type R and doesn't look like all those low-powered bland white or black RS, LS, GS, and GS-R Integras. Too bad so many people got stuck with white or black ITRs.
In Chicago, Phoenix Yellow means your car gets stolen twice a night instead of just weekly.
