Default Starter ?

I did a search and couldn't get an answer . Can I use any b series starter on a JDM itr 96 spec tranny or will I need a JDM itr starter? I plan on using a toda flywheel if you think that makes a difference. Thanks.

Are there any differences in the b series starters that makes one better than another?

yeah, the B18C/B16B/B16A are jdm. extra 10% more starter "hp"

seriously, they are all the same, no benefit of one over the other.

There are different manufacturers for teh starters them selves but the hole and bolt patten are teh same in the trans. My Hybrid had a JDM trans and B16 (american) starter. no problems.

TODA flywheel here, usdm starter, no grinds. i think all that grinding referred to the JUN flywheels, that grind jdm or not.

I've heard grind stories from Spoon as well.

I thought someone said the tooth profile on the USDM starter was slightly different than the JDM. Which is why when you use a JDM flywheel (Jun, TODA, Spoon, etc) it might grind.

sack-who has a SPoon fw that does not grind.
