registration problems
I was told the it was a clean title. But Its salvg in another state though. I heard DMV dont have links with each other so i'm wondering how they will deciede wether it'll be a clean title or not. The person who sold it to me lied to me and now is acting shady not giving my any paper work or anything.
I heard that DMV may decide based on CHP inspection since they have no records of the car. DMV doesnt check carfax for some reason. But again i've only heard of this today from a friend who said they talked to a DMV worker. Also DMV said that i just need to show proff that i've tried to reach the person who sold me the car ( phone records ect, reciepts for the purchase of the car, ect.) They said just fill out some paper work and i'll have to get the car inspected by CHP ect.
I need help and any feedback

trace the state where the vehicle was last registered and asked for any info they may have. if none, chp will only do a walk around i.e. no frame damage, lights, etc. dont worry about it much. just hope that no accident. salvage title can be anything i.e. stolen engine and stuff.

That's only what i've heard. I'm not sure myself.
Unfortunately i thought i could trust this person because he worked on my cousins car for awhile and he knew him for awhile also. They weren't close friends but none the less my cousin trusted him with his car. I even went to go eat with this guy and with my cousin and stuff too. This "guy" is actually know on HT but i don't want to call him out until i get this all sorted out. My cousin kept telling me i could trust him and the guy kept saying dont worry blah blah blah.So no i didnt check the VIN number on carfax ( yes i know stupid stupid stupid, i got it from everyone i know). SO now i'm stuck.

I'm sure i'll pass the CHP inspection i'm just wondering weather the car will turn out salvg or not. I want it to come out clean because i was told it was clean. But i dont know.
