The real problem with the titanium shift knobs in the summer...
Last summer, after my friend would leave his Type-R parked somwhere in the sun for a couple of hours, he would have to unscrew the **** and shift without it, while I held the **** in front of the air vents, trying to cool it down enough to make it usable

Over here i have the opposite problem, in winter that thing would near stick to your hand it gets so cold, so i drive hard in 1st and 2nd then shift to 5th to save the problem of having to touch it!
I don't know what kind of material is the stock shifter made of. Yes, it gets a little hot but, swap it for a short billet alluminum shifter and you'll feel what is real hot!
it's not the engine heat that gets it, it's parking in the sun for a while. especially in a black R
if he wasnt able to shift with it, how did you manage to hold it in front of the vents?
