Default Part combinations

Im rebuilding a hydrolocked b18c1 and I plan on using mainly ITR parts. I know for sure im gonna use ITR pistons/rods.

Im also thinking about upgrading the valve train. Ill use ITR camshafts most likely. I was wondering if the GSR valves and springs would be suffecient with the ITR parts. And this is assuming that the GSR parts are in good condition, I haven't taken the block apart yet.

One more thing. I want to use adjustable cam gears and I was wondering if they would be compatable with the ITR camshaft. I was thinking about Toda or maybe just Skunk2s for the better price.

Thanks.

you'd need itr valvetrain if you want to rev higher, if you keep same rpm, then you'll be fine.. now.. i'm still learing about bottom end, but woudln't it be better to use some forged pistons/rods.. anyone?

for a guy who is rebuilding a block and doesnt know what forged parts is, theres a chance he might go NOS and triple turbo

if you plan on running oem parts i would consider either j spec itr whihc are a bit more CR 11.1 with a b16 or b18c5 head . a bit more with a b18c1 (which im sure is what your planing on running .
if you want a bit more of CR the i would consider ctr pistons which should be around 12.1CR with a b16 / b18c5 head a around 12.3CRwith a b18c1 head using stock (oem ) head gasket and not a milled head other wise your CR would go up some.
If your choose to run itr cams i wouldnt run anything else the itr springs inners and outters since they do have way more lift then gsr cams . if you plan to rev pass rev limiter which is 8400 then i would consider itr outters and portflow inners .
To gain more hp i would consider Toda spec a , skunk stage 1 which at least the minimum valvetrain of portflow inner should be consider (if planing on reving pass 8400rpms ) those are mild cams which tuning is required but not as much as toda spec B/C , skunk stage 2/3 or even Jun stage 2/3 which required more then tuning . like a stane alone program like hondata , aem , to get there best gains .
