Why are you painting your GSR Phoenix Yellow?

 

Funny thing;

rodney and I encountered a PY LS done up with a huge-*** wing and body kit and the obligatory loud-*** muffler, huge-*** wheels and the ever important BIGGER THAN LIFE FRYING PAN SIZED TACH on the dash,

when we were on our way home 2 weeks ago from auto-x. Nearby an import car show was letting out and the rice was thick.

rodney was in front and pulled next to this guy who had a plate that read: "1 hot LS" or something similarly disturbing. I was right behind rod. The Yellow LS guy wouldn't even look over at rod's car or even acknowledge him. We weren't looking for a race and we weren't harassing him, we both had our wives and a full load of track stuff and tires but, a wave or even a thumbs up could have been exchanged.

Ahh well I guess Mr. Yellow LS was too busy staring straight ahead or maybe he was just too good for the rest of us. Hah, maybe he was just scared???

Funny thing though, had the LS wanted to go, I'm sure rod would'eve played and then just wasted him. We don't exactly look the show car part, and sometimes I forget that. I guess I should not loose site of what it's all about.


And, Yeah. Why do you want to paint your GSR PY yella?

Damn, you guys are harsh. It's like a double standard, lower integra's can't copy the R but when we want to downgrade to gs-r wings and the vtec badge and what not they don't seem to give a rats ***. Just let him paint his freakin car whatever color he wants.

it was an observation, Nothing personal.

He can have Yellow, I could care less. Nice show cars are ok, I prefer real race cars though. I don't roll all over looking for fights or attention so just relax.

I already had my fill of yellow and am alot more satisfied with black. He can have the negative police attention every time he drives around. He can have ALL the thieves stare his *** down ALL THE TIME! He can Always worry about If his car will be there when he gets back to it or up in the morning. He can have all those worries and then some...

Whats that phrase? "Imitation is the highest form of flattery." Flattery? I don't think it is, Just wannabe fakeness....

And thats IMHO, I'm sure alot of other members will agree... I did the SleepeR look for LESS attention! AND We weren't looking for trouble if you read the post.

I'm not really trying to defend him as he didn't really say anything in response to both of your guys's posts.

I'm saying in light of what i've seen lately that lots of R owners that post in this forum seem to be really uptight about people copying the R style. How do you know that he lives in a high crime rate area or where the cops will just look for the yellow car. He might possibly live in that type of area but you just don't know and frankly he might just love the color, thats why he chose it, not out to "flatter" us R owners.

I know you and many other R owners that go sleeper aren't looking for trouble but i'm just making an observation that none of the gsr guys get on our case for copying their style.

I am relaxed, and not trying to pick a fight.

 

Yeah I did not mean it in a negative way, but was rather curious why he wanted to paint it an R color...

Heh, Chris, no harm in asking, but I'm just saying it's like asking why do you want to paint your car s2000 silver or lexus is black. Personal preference.

OMG!!!!! That Kid is from my town

He was trying to impress soem 12 year olds one night (before the "ONE HOT LS" plates) with his "Type-R" and I layed the smack down. Basicly he left with his tail between his legs after I pointed out everything that made his car everything besides a Type-R.

He eventually said he wanted to race me becuase I talked so much **** so I went and got my car and when I pulled up and he saw it he went to the ricer handbook:

" I can't race you now, but I have my JDM ITR engine coming in 2 weeks and then we will see whats up."

I mean I am all about doing what you want to your car. I have nothing against show cars and before H-t I wanted a body kit. Well that has all changed now(Thanks Guys!!!) When it comes down to talking **** and trying to impress 12 year olds its just sad and I loose all respect.

 

i've always liked a yellow car it's either py , audi yellow, or is 300 yellow has nothing to do with the ITR thing

just for your info i am not a person to rice my car. and if you need ask mike at isp what plans i have for my car. just because someone wants to do something to change the look to there car people think thats rice..
