Default Next Mod....

I have a cold air intake, people often say that should be your first mod, now what comes next? A header?

Next mod for power should be header, a good one none of that DC junk. Get a Spoon or Hytech. They're bank, but you get what you pay for. Stock exhaust is already pretty good as is until you get more flow thru the engine. Next mod for handles on the track should be the '98 spec JDM 23mm rear sway along with the rear upper control arms.

I have different tires on it right now, they suck. It's purely to be economic about things. This way I don't have to get new tires every 7500 miles. Being in college and all, I'd rather buy things that will last rather than those which will have to be replaced anyway. I'll just get better tires when these wear out. How much is the spoon/hytec header? Is there a cheaper header that will still be a good improvement over stock?

any jdm header like spoon/mugen and what not will run you for around at least 850bucks..if you want cheaper with few gains..try the JDM ITR 4-1

Yeah A Good JDM Header or one with a 2.5" collector.

The CAI doesn't perform the miracles like it does on other Tegs or Civics...

My choice was Spoon and I'm pleased.

Good luck,

A.

i've heard the best first mod is those honda/acura shoulder pad things for your seatbelt....then the single windshield wiper offset....but then then you should have already put bout 15 stickers all over the car of parts and manufactures you've never heard of....but me personally....i/h/e vafc/dyno time, supension, brakes then motor work or just a bottle of nos to start things off nice!!

late

I don't understand these people, tires are the only thing that touch the ground, you can have 1000whp, but without the proper tires, it's like suicide. You are willing to spend to go faster, but you don't want to spend when it comes to safety.

wow a b20 with type r pistons, make sure you buy tons of oil and spark plugs. Then next you'll need a customized plate that reads blowby. Good luck with that.

In response to citanest,
I'm not trying to go fast yet. I have time before I want to try and race it. I'm just getting it ready, it's like my hobby. I wouldn't ever race it or take it to the track without changing the tires anyway.

Thanks to all of you for your input, it's greatly appriciated. Peace.

I will when I replace these ones. I was half-way across the country when I realized my stock tires were bald. The only place that had tires that would even fit my car, had Potenza 910 205/55/15. It works for now. When these wear out, I'll get the RE 010's again, now that I am back to civilization.

Oh yea, and how does the comptech compare to spoon, mugen, DC, etc.? I like comptech (I was thinking about getting their flywheel) and have heard lots of good things about them.
