So, you're posting someone else's bad luck?
Ask him how much he wants for the car ... now (I need a chassis for the turbo motor).

Luck had nothing to do with it.

As I've said before...

It takes at least TWO different errors to accomplish a money shift:

1) Putting the shift lever in the wrong gear

2) Failing to do anything about it (i.e. putting the clutch pedal back in) in time, when seeing the revs start shooting up past redline.

So that's like asshat squared.

I must admit, I agree with nsxtasy. It's driver error compounded by further driver error.

it might have been more wise to have atleast gotten comfortable with the car and grasp a better feel of "driving" it before the flogging.

I can't wait till you do it.

<-------------------Seen excellent drivers with years of track experience money shift, and done it himself.

Now I don't feel so bad after killing my engine after four days. 1 hour is a pretty good record.

this just happened to me yesterday, luckily everything seems to be ok. i used to say the same thing that most of you are saying, but you know, it only takes 1 little mistake. **** happens, no one is perfect, and im sure you guys would change your tune if and when it happens to you.

Wrong. As I pointed out above, it actually takes TWO mistakes, not one. And they're not "little" when you consider the consequences.

Any time you let out the clutch pedal, if anything doesn't happen the way you expect it to, your first reaction should be to push it back in immediately. Do that, and you won't do the money shift. If you can't be ready to do that, and if you can't put the shift lever in the proper gear, then you shouldn't be driving a manual transmission car.

I sortof find it hard to "mishift" from 3rd to 2nd.. i mean what happens when u let go of the gear lever when your shifting from 1st to 2nd? It springs to the middle..

So when going from 3rd to 4th, the only pressure on the stick should be downwards.. not side to side.. lol.

The worst thats wver happend to me was a mishift from 1st to 4th.. being lazy i reckon. (hey even GANSAN did that in the S2K ) It made a popping sound and a small section of my clutch managed to break off and jam No excessive damage fortunately, apart frome a new clutch.
