just parted out my cluster to someone and he's having issues with the speedometer. i had it installed in my car for 6 months (everything ran perfectly). he's running an obd1 gsr motor in a 99 rs integra while the cluster is running as obd2. any help would be appreciated.

 

what is the problem he is having? eratic reading or nothing at all? any CEL's?

 

my mistake for not being specific. the needle on the speedometer does not go past 50 mph. it reads accurately up until it hits 50 than just sticks there. as soon as you slow down it reads normally again.

 

On an old civic of mine, I had a carbon bezel that barely touched the needle. It caught my gas gauge and never let it go below 1/4 tank (crappy to figure that one out the hard way), and the speedo was similar to what you explained. If he has an aftermarket bezel installed, he might try running without it as a test.

 

maybe there's an issue with his speed sensor. you could reinstall that cluster in your car and see if it works normally

 

Swap the green film from his original cluster.
