Default Idle Problems Help

Hi guys, its been a long time.
A few days ago i had this problem. I started the engine and idling was at about 500rpm, so i accelerated the engine and then it wanted to turn off. So i left the car home. Now, not always, but sometimes idle is not regular. Goes from 800rpm to 500rpm. What can it be? A friend told me to clean the throttle body and maybe the manifold, what can i do, is there anything else i need to check?
Thanx!

You may want to try to clean out your iacv (idle air control valve). That's normally the case for the symptom you described. Here's how to clean if you don't know how.

Could even be something as simple as a spark plug going bad... check the easier stuff first.

Like Cory said, check the easier stuff first. If that's not it, check your IACV, if that's not it, check your TPS. I have similar problems, with a bad TPS.
