How hard is it to install coilover?
Hope no one get pissed about this tread...anywayz, I bought a set of Apexi N1 coilover over the weekend and want to trade and install them myself. How hard is it? I've heard that I need to use spring compresser to take off that shocks..is that so?
Anywayz, most important thing is should I have it cornerweighted?
Thx

You stole my coilovers!!!
J/K! Wayne, it's a cinch to install, remember what I showed you when it was up on jacks. You don't need a spring compressor if you're taking off the whole shock assembly. If you're swapping springs then yes you need one but because it's the whole coilover it's even easier. Give it a shot, you won't beleive how easy it is.

Swap them as a full assembly. That is, unless you like dealing with compressing the springs again. Swapping the full assembly shouldn't take long at all...
As far as I know, you didn't do anything wrong in getting YB's coilovers. You're not the guy that agreed to sell them to me, and then backed out of the deal at the very last minute. You know, I didn't say a single word publicly (or even privately) about how YB screwed me over with his coilovers. I had put the incident behind me and chalked it up as a lesson that there are risks involved with buying used car parts on the internet. I don't know you, and I'm not entirely sure why you felt compelled to rub my face in it in public. But now that you and YB have so TACTFULLY made public what was once a private affair, I have no problem airing this dirty laundry in public. Have a nice day.

C-Mugen R, is the coilover 99 spec? I've got my install over the weekend, relatively easy, but does the adjusting tool for ride height & spring load comes with the suspension? I got my used and that seems to be missing, anyone know where can I get some for Apexi N1 99 spec coilover?

Its really easy. Just take the old shock and spring setup out and then just slide the new assembled coilover system in. It should bolt right in.

Back ON topic. It's simple. In the back there's a few ways of doing it but the bseries guide will provide enough instruction (I just looked it over to be sure). One note, remove the bolt holding the shock to the fork in the front completely.
Semi-OT: Also, for ITR springs you don't need to use a spring compressor even if you were just swapping springs.

any camber kit?
I doubt camber correction kit is needed.
well my tires are bald as hell on the insides from not haveing a camber kit.

how much negative camber do you have? $5 says you toe is out. How often do you rotate the tires? I have found -2 to -2.2 degrees of camber won't wear tires if ritated properly but just a little tow will wear out the tire in a hurry.

so how do you adjust this without a camber kit?
or i mean how do you adjust your toe? and what should your camber , toe and caster setting be? without a camber kit?
Camber and caster is not adjustable on a Honda. Camber automatically changes when you raise or lower a Honda. Lowering adds negative camber. Camber isn't inherently bad as negative camber to an extend adds to the cars handling ability.
Camber can be adjusted with a kit but caster is still non adjustable.
Toe can be adjusted by the trailing arms in the rear and tie rods in the front. Toe settings are a matter of preference. I know I dicussed this with warren and he has some different theories on toe.
I run 1/8" total toe out in the front and Zero toe out in the rear. Both of my toe settings are in spec but toe out or toe in will wear tires and will wear is a lot more than any camber less than -2 degrees.
Rotation is key, if you lower your car and have added camber or toe not set to zero you can help wear tires even with rotating your tires every time you change your oil. I rotate mine about every 2 weeks afetr auto-x's since I have the wheels off anyway. Tire pressure will also play a key roll in wear. IF you under inflate the outter edges of the tire will wear prematurely but if you over inflate you will tend to wear out the center of the tire faster.
Moral: Keep an eye on your tires and know what you alignment settings are on an alignment rack before changing anything.
