Default Help...Code 9...

99 jdm itr+p28 ecu+hondata tuned and all, was driving like a baby when my car started to stutter and then threw the check engine light, says code 9, 9 short blinks........

motor just has basic bolt on's, was dyno tuned, and only has about 20k miles on it

what is code 9, what causes it, what can fix it?.....car seems to bog and studder now at low rpm on my way home

I had the same code last week. Head of the rotor screw broke off. Open up the cap and take a peek.

I agree. Also, go back over what you did to take out the msd, see if anything is messed up.

Code 9 is the related to a distributor failure. the ckp sensor on the shaft inside the dist. is failing. they cant really be removed and rebuilt. replacing the distributor housing is the cheapest fix. Good luck

problem fixed

my rotor was fucked, cap was fucked and a couple other little things were also fucked

replaced them all, started right up and runs better then ever, the screw became loose inside and did alot of damage, replaced all the **** that was damaged and now everything runs great
