Threw a code(CEL is on), and I need help asap.
I installed my JDM DC header and carsound cat this weekend. Started the car about 20 minutes ago, and the CEL came on w/ in about 15 seconds. I can't figure out where I went wrong. Everything was tight, including the o2 sensors. It didn't sound like there was a leak during the brief time the car was running. The only possible thing I can think of that went wrong was getting a little bit of anti-seize on the o2 sensor, although I wiped it off.
I forget how to check what code I threw, and I know that would help assess what's wrong, but I figure I have to take a car to a dealership now anyway. Any thoughts or similar situations out there? I am so pissed, and I am leery about driving the car to a dealer that is 20 minutes away. Please help w/ any relevant info. Thanks.

You can check the code by counting the number of blinks. There will be two distinct blinking (fast ones and slow ones). Count up how many fast you have and how many slow blinkg you have. (not necessarily in that order). Tell us what you get.

That is how I thought you did it, but the light doesn't blink. I will try it again, but the first time it came on it didn't blink, and when I went out and started the car again it didn't blink. I drove the car for about 1 minute. Everything seemed normal except the light, and although I didn't go above 5,000 rpm, it didn't seem that the ecu was running "open loop." However, I think there may be a small leak, although it isn't very loud. I put the collector of the header into the flange of the cat w/o a doughnut gasket. Is this a mistake, as the collector is pretty far into the header? I thought it was ok, but now I am not so sure. Would a leak set the cel off immediately? I thought the car took a few minutes to realize a problem w/ the o2 sensors, although I may be wrong. Anything people w/ experience can contribute is appeciated.
You must short the service connector near the ECU for the light to blink. It should be up near the bottomside of the glove box in a green rubber holder. Just short the 2 leads with a paperclip

I know they won't honor my warranty, but I think I just need the light shut off, assuming I have no leaks. Any idea what it will cost to have the light turned off?
