Default Flat spot on spoon cams!?

I have heard of spoon cams running a flat spot where the power does not move. Anyone can confirm this? I was hoping that running spoon valve springs and portflow ti retainers would cure it but I'm not too sure anymore.

I'm also interested in the Spoon cams but it seems like everybody has had a hard time tuning them. I'm going with these cams as soon as my warrant runs out. Till then, I'll wait for others to experiment with it.

spoon cam hard to tune? i think they are the easiest one since they can use stock R valve spring and mild spec.

They are not hard to tune; tuning was very easy.
B2FiNiTy:
Im using the Spoon Valvetrain, but I can check with a buddy who was using ITR valvesprings to see if he had any problems.

IM me later in the day if you'd like.

I'm thinking your EK9 has ITR running gear with Spoon cams, or you wouldn't have posted. Right?
no, i didnt have spoon cam on my car but i installed many of them on customers' car, and all of them are running stock itr valve spring. they all run in road race track and run 9k rpm(spoon ecu) all day long w/o any problem. look at the spec, they are very mild, 11.5mm valve lift(same as stock itr) with bigger duration, i didnt see any reason to change valve spring. as for tunning, spoon cam + spoon ecu = good match. i think its not that hard to copy spoon program to any obd1 ecu nowaday.
