Can someone post a mp3 or something with this engine knock people are talking about.
Mine makes a sort of knock at idle, and more so at idle with the AC on.....

...did you advance your timing?

if you have your ac on, at idle and you hear knocking, retard the timing a little.

if your currently not throwing cel's, try retarding the timing anyhow. if the knocking stops you know your problem

No. I have changed the timing yet.
I am using texaco gas instead of my usual amaco. I wouldnt think that would matter unles the engine gets used to higher quality gas and advances the timing automatically...

This may be a dumb question, but...what exactly causes your engine to knock? and if it does knock, is it reversible? if so, how?

Whooa! Its not like that!
It sounds more like maybe something is lose or rattling against something, which hopefully is all it is.

Thanks!

my ecu shows knock warning at 5000-5600 rpm.... I hear and feel nothing.

@furbar:
Knocking means self-ignition of the mixture... It can be caused by incorrect ignition timing, low octane fuel, too less fuel injection (lean mixture).
It`s also caused by high temperature in the cylinder and fawks up the engine if you do nothing against it.
You can take my explaination to get your points to be done to stop knocking

that sound clip is a bottom end knock which I hope you don't have (new motor needed) Have you checked the oil level in the motor?
To hear where the sound is coming from take a long long screwdriver and hold the end to the motor and the handle to your ear like a sethascope.. then move the end around the motor until the sound is at its loudest and see where it is and report back to us.
