Default emblems jacked; remove wing?

well last night i went to see shrek with my girl and low and behold when i got back to my car someone had jacked both of my red eblems. i mean im sure it was some 16 year old kid that just saw fast and the nitrous. man did they ever do a horrible job with their screwdriver... which leads me to my decision....

my car goes into the shop on monday to have the holes filled in the back and front and have both the back and front repainted. i figured i dont want this to happen again so i will just sport no red emblems. i also am contemplating not having the wing. since they are repainting the back piece they could weld up the spoiler holes as well. i like the look of the integra without the wing... what are some opinions???

freaking jackers... what is that red emblem gonna make you run 10's now? oh yeah i forgot you need to have green neon lights under your car to hit 10's!!!

Go for it. If you remove the wing, theres nothing they can steal anymore. Although if you're a PY R, it still wont make you a sleeper.

I like the look of the wing, i'd leave it as is...the no emblems doesn't look bad so just have them filled in...

Driving your car to the movies is just a bad idea. It's saying "Attention thieves/low lifes/pond scum: My car is going to be unattended for 1.5 hours. Please steal/strip anything you can while I'm away". YOU KNOW the R is a haven/magnet for thieves - why give them a chance to begin with? Take a cab, have your gf drive, trade cars with your parents for the evening, or park at an attended lot away from the movies....

Stripping your car of various parts to lessen attractiveness is the wrong thing to do IMHO. You need to think like a thief and not give them free opportunities to deface your car. Just remember they can still key the side of it if there is nothing to steal - or even break the window to steal your shift ****.

Big Phat R is correct. Unfortunately, owning a Type R is asking for trouble. I usually borrow my parent's car (Chrysler Cirrus and a Chrysler Concorde...please take them !! haha). OR Get a beater (my next purchase). There are plenty of somewhat reliable cars for $3-5K.

Well man I know how you feel! Since my last incident, my car is wingless, no Type-R sticker and with regular silver Acura emblem! Not the best looking PY ITR you ever seen but at least they have nothing easy to take away! Not so easy to make a sleeper with a yellow ITR...

well thanks for reassuring me what i already know. the place i parked it though was actually a good area. i have parked my dad's supra and my past civic turbo their many times no problems. it's actually an upscale mall with a movie theatre so i easily could have been their for five minutes to return something. and i even parked next to a freakin e55 amg. my car is wanted like a **** in seattle... everyone asking to buy my red seats and all... guess ima have to turn it into a weekend driver.

but thanks for the hints... i should have taken my gf car. dammit

btw; just got back from the shop and to fill in the holes in the front and the ones in the back inc. acura badge and wing plus paint for hatch and front bumper is gonna run me $1350. *** jackers!!!!!!!!!!!

My plan if/when my emblems get stolen is to shave the emblem holes and remove the wing and get those holed filled also. Then the Decals are coming off too, I just like the sleek clean appearance. (I do love the current appearance, but if anything happens to my emblems or wing, everythings coming off)

well my deductible is already $500 dollars and since the car before my last was a 99 Si that got stolen and fully striped... im not quite sure if i want to report it and have my rates go up or what not.

i was thinking about that too... just gotta call them later and find out.

btw; i am gonna take of the wing as well and fill the holes as well as the emblem holes... i too like the clean sleek appearance.

Also, this may help ya out too. I take my R to some malls and stuff, but I ONLY park in the very front. So, that everyone that's waiting out in front of the mall or people coming and goin into the mall are always around. So, that'll detour thieves a bit, but I know that's not a 100% solution, but it's worked for me so far *knocks on wood*

I just dont understand how and why people with R's still leave them unattended at the mall???
Seriously, it doesnt make sense, there is no such thing as upscale SAFE mall. In fact thats the best place to go to find nice rides...
And forget about GF's...most of them like our cars but dont really understand the high theft rate of our Tegs, not to say yours didnt, but the average...so dont let GF's talk you into it because at the end, YOU end up with the problems and $$$.
