Thought this info might help the ITR community at some point so here it is.
I wanted to try an ITR fpr on the "smog legal" edition of my B20 swap since the fuel trims were a bit high with a P75 ecu, but found that 16740-P73-003 is discontinued and used ones were pretty tough to find. I started researching around and trying to figure out if there were other Honda vehicles with an fpr that I could hijack. Lo and behold, some of the early '00s motorcycles ran at ~50psi and the fprs are similar in design. 16740-MCH-013 is off of an '03 or so CBR954RR. The clocking of the vacuum nipple is a little off and the outlet nipple a little shorter but functionally it goes right on. It fixed the fuel trims on my project, and I thought it moght be useful for some of you guys that are trying to restore to original or replace one that's been hacked up.
4 years later I'm now ready to purchase this for my all motor B18c5/ Integra restoration. I'm trying to replace the hard to find and old parts with OEM parts and hope this will be fine.
So far, I've got a new OEM fuel dampener, OEM fuel filter, and would like to replace the FPR, after 25 years I'm sure all these need to be replaced. Also debating on swapping my ID 1000cc injectors for OEM RDX 410cc injectors as I think the 1000 cc will be too much for a N.A setup.
Works fine, it’s an oem regulator. Exactly the same as the P73 except for the nipple clocking (giggity?). To be fair, it’s only on the car when I’m in ‘smog legal’ mode. Lucky find though.
Having a working damper is unappreciated. So many people delete it without realizing they’re hamstringing their tune. Maybe not noticeable on an old obd1 ecu based setup, but it will run better on an oem ecu if it was supposed to be there before.
look into a reasonable sized set of EV14s from your choice of vendor. They’re ALL better than any of the single pintle style injectors. A 365@3bar injector @ 3.5bar is something like 425cc and that’s likely all you’ll ever need for NA on gasoline. The EV14s just get better with more fuel pressure and keeping the size reasonable means you’ll really be able to get them dialed at idle and cruise.
More is not better with injectors, right size is best size.

Yes, I agree on the dampener! its overlooked quite often! I learned about its importance when I was re doing the fuel system on my K20 swapped EK a few years back! started reading up on the Radium dampener and never realized its importance!
Now that I'm starting to put back my B series together after a piston detonated on boost, I still don't know what caused it but I'm leaning toward a fuel issue. Maybe an injector failure but what is crazy is I'm positive the stock fuel dampener and fuel filter and FPR is the original and at 25 years old I'm sure they need to be replaced! why I never did a fuel filter boggles my mind haha all the money into supercharging etc. and I kept a 25 year old stock fuel filter and FPR lol!.. I know using a stock FPR is ok at the power level i was at but I want to freshen up as much as I can before the engine gets rebuilt and put back in.
would you be able to twist the top cap to orient the outlet without compromising the part? I am trying to source a new oem fuel pressure regulator for my honda crv on stock rebuild. I am having issues finding a new oem one, but have junk yard options. See pictures
