Default Data Dots

hey guys im in the market for a type R and know the risks of a integra being stolen and having a type r makes it 1000x worse. Has anyone had an experience with data dots or know of it actually working this person im buying it from is offering me a hookup on data dots, and i want to know if its even worth the money, or even does anything. sorry if there is already a thread like this tried search but nothing

For those who dont know what it is its pretty much a bunch of tiny round thigns with a tracking number on all your parts. I dont know the effectiveness but sounds pretty effective

okay, and how do you find your car once it gets stolen, is it like a sprayed paint GPS system?

Never heard of this before, but it sounds expensive to do and maintain. (possibly montly premiums)

data dots is something GM has used for quite a while, basically a bunch of serial numbers all over your car, only visible with a black light i believe, kinda useless imo.

It doesnt help locate the parts like a GPS or anything, but if the parts are found they can be linked back to you as they have your VIN/registration or whatever on each dot.
