Hey guys does anyone have a write up or a how to do a coolant flush on the ITR>
I searched but only found one on a civic,
I wanted one more specific on a ITR ... because I am not sure where to put the garden hose to flush the block or the radiator .. any help is greatly appreciated.

The big bolt on the front of the block to the left of the dipstick t00b is the block coolant freeze plug. Very hard to miss, it faces forward.
I've never flushed out with a hose personally but the last time I flushed I just did the basic radiator drain coupled with the block drain. Did thermostat and water pump at the same time so I was able to get most of the coolant out.

I would never flush out the system with hose water. It will slowly corrode you aluminum block if residual tap water gets trapped in the system. I only use distilled water or premixed Honda coolant when changing my coolant.
OT: The new premixed Honda coolant is a smurf blue color.

Agree completely with you.
I couldnt get the bolt off on my block so i went and poured distilled water in the rad, 4 liters of it. Started the car for 2 mins to let it circulate (heat up and circulate). Then shut it off and drained it.
Then i just poured in some oem honda coolant.
That bolt on the block can be a bitch to get off, and its right under the header, so ur gonna get some shredded knuckles

Hey mike, why not just **** in the radiator. I keed, I keed! I usually drain the coolant and then fill it with fresh coolant and leave it at that.

its called prevenative maintenaince .. or thats what honda calls it..
no serisouly .. no big reason .. the car is at 78k and the owners manual calls for a coolant flush/change so I figured I would not over look it.

pretty good write up.. very cleary explained.
yO does anyone know if I can just use the HOnda Type 2 coolant which is already pre-mixed and does not call for mixing water.

That's what I used. If it's OEM, I wouldn't see a problem using it. Plus, now mixing required!

No, you get sterilized water. Now if you capture the steam and collect the condensation, you will have distilled water.
