Default Considering doing something wrong...

I am considering swapping a built turbo b18a into my ITR as soon as some of the snow melts. The car currently has a spun rod bearing. Thoughts, I may need to cut up my stock JDM front bumper a little to fit the FMIC that I have... The plan for the future is a k24... But if I swap this motor in I can have the car up and running again. I plan on using the turbo motor in a ice race car next season. So I need a mule to break it in anyway..

Thoughts? I feel that doing this is very wrong in some way.

if you have to ask, it probably means you're looking for us to tell you NOT to do it. If you really wanted to do it, you would have done it without someone giving you the okay.

K20 or K24 sounds fine to me, b18a turbo doesn't so much. Is the spun bearing in there from the original block?

^^^^^^please explain why a k20/24 is fine but a b18a , which is at least still a b series a problem.

I don't think that's wrong at all. I agree that you can bolt that baby in and save the stock engine, at the least. That engine with an Itr trans would be a really fast car to boot.

I think the only mistake would be rushing it. Do it up like you want to man you only got one life.

sometimes you gotta do what joo gotta do.

i had b20 vtec in my itr for a summer until i went back to my original b18c5..
cuz i killed b20 vtec using a oil cooler + filter relocation kit.. the oil hose blew up lost all the oil .. game over.

my b18c5 had spun bearing as well. i got it rebuilt with new pistons, new rods, blue print, balanced.. put lots of money into it..probably more than buying k20a + modifications to fit the motor. but i still like my original B18C5 in my caR. i can find k20a and a civic shell anytime.. i try to keep her together

i should have just bought a ls7 lol

At the end of the day you have todo what you want todo. I had my R boosted for ages and it was great.

With this car its best ot buy a certifit bumper and cut that up. saving the oem bumper is something you will be glad you did.

Who cares how u make power. hp is hp thats that.

I say go for it. I would just save the oem bumper. otehr then that..... go for it
