Default Compression test.

I performed a compression test on my 2000 JDM type R engine and i am wondering if 255psi on all piston is good. Also what is the compression on a brand new JDM type R engine.. does anyone know ?

255 is solid. Since every engine is different and every compression tool is different, the actual number is not that important (within reason). A brand new engine might not put out that 255 because it takes a break-in period for the rings to seat. The most important thing is that the numbers are close together, and if you have 255 in all 4, you should be very very happy. I have 250 in all 4 on my JDM ITR engine, and I have been nothing but thrilled with it.

Guys....i'm thinking of buying an integra with a B18C Type R JDM engine....it has 80kms on it (about 50k miles) and a compression ratio of 11.1 (vs 10.6 for USDM version).

What kind of compression numbers should I be getting?

I am thinking 230 to 240 psi across the board?
