Default Ignition Checking Routine not functioning

Hello everyone, I'm so glad to find this forum.

I have a 1998 ITR and always thought I'm the only one out there

I have a quick question and would appreciate if someone can help me with it.

When you start up the car, as you put your key to Stage II of the ignition, battery will come on and various check lights. It's suppose to make a "beeping" sound and I usually wait for it to stop before cranking the engine.

The car came with a cheap alarm and recently starts to act funny, such as unarm itself after I arm it, or siren starts while I'm driving...and that's the around the time the check routine stopped, only a few lights come on and no beeping sounds.
I uninstalled the alarm and it's still not performing the check.

I'm worried about it and would like to know if anyone have similar problems, is it a short? if so, where should I look? Is it a blown fuse? If so, which one?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Can you hear the fuel pump prime as you turn the key to position 2? I noticed that mine did not, when the alarm was armed and ignition cut was working, and some other weird things too like the doors didn't lock themselves until the alarm was off.

Does it beep if you open the door and turn the lights on?

It could be just the beep is gone.

Do you get the ABS, Check Engine and battery lights at least?

Nope, I do not hear the fuel pump engage.

The check engine light, ABS light do come on and off.

Have you found the remedy?

Disable the alarm.

Sorry that isn't much help.

Get out the volt meter and start checking for shorts.

I did once with a borrowed multimeter, at the fuse box beneath the steering column, all hit 12v. And I don't trust ppl to bring it to a shop to check the electric.

The Alarm is already out
