Default Check engine light started to blink and lost power

So last night I was coming home from work, my check engine light started to blink just as I was getting off on the exit. The engine started to flutter when I would come to a stop. It also felt a little weaker, but after the light started to blink I started to drive it real slow till I reached my house, less then a mile away from the exit. I checked the oil, and it looked fine. But I haven't checked my spark plugs yet. So if any of you guys recommend any mechanics around San Jose that I can take my car to, I would greatly appreciate it.

It has 115k miles, been burning a lot of oil lately, almost a quart a week. I check the oil on a weekly basis and add when necessary. Change the oil every 2500-3500 miles, and I don't drive it recklessly. I havent checked the spark plugs yet, but I changed them about three oil changes ago. Any advice would be great.

A solid CEL is probably nothing too bad (probably the converter) but a blinking one is not good.

^^^..or something like fuel system too lean/rich, sensor circuit/out of range problems. etc.. etc.. a check engine light isn't a "keep driving until the car shuts off one day, light." If your check engine light is flashing you have what is called a catalyst damaging misfire, your first step is check/replace all tune-up hardware including Plugs/Wires/Cap/Rotor/Fuel Filter as well as checking/replacing your air filter.

blinking check engine is a misfire.

if its all good, compression test.
