CEL help
Filled up my gas tank the other day (used 93 octane, not the crap). After a little bit of driving my cel came on. My fiance' said her cel came on soon after filling up at the same gas station. I assumed the cel is due to some bad gas so when the tank ran empty i put a fuel system cleaner in and filled up with a different brand gas. After i reset my ecu the cel was off and remained off for a day or so. Now it came back on.. had AutoZone check the cel code and they said there is a fuel sys problem. Could the bad gas have damaged my car. If so any ideas what it could be?
Any ideas are appreciated...

It's possible, is your car running the same?
I'm very particular about my gas, I know a lot of people can't do this or have access to doing it. But all I use is 100 octane, and only if it has over 1800 gallons on the tank, so that I don't risk getting the possible **** sitting at the bottom of the tank. They stop selling it after the tank reaches 1500 gallons.
...seems like you did get some bad gas, just go with a couple more fuel system treatments and a couple more tanks of the better gas you used after the bad tank.

car is running fine, OTHER than vtec is not engaging. Ive been through 2 cycles now, using a fuel cleaner after both cycles. When I reset the ECU and the cel light goes off my vtec will engage, but after driving a little the cel will come back on and vtec is gone.
That's not good man. I'd take it in if I were you...
I'm kind of 50/50 on this because if something was seriously wrong and that gas did some big time damage, then you're car wouldn't work fine (as normal) then not, it would run shitty all of the time, even after the ECU being reset and such. It's just weird, get it looked at by a Honda/Acura tech.

Here is what I got printed out when the ECU was read.
Code- P1457
"EVAP control sys leak detected (control sys canister)
Probable Causes
1. check fuel cap
2. failed vent or purge solenoid"
Any ideas? and yes my fuel cap is on tight.

It happens when you fill your tank up too far. (i.e. like when your tank is filled and the fuel handle on the pump recognizes it and you try and get a little more in there to make it an even dollar amount or just try and top it off)
It's a cheap fix.
My car was still under warranty when it happened to me so I just took it in.

How do you know when the tank has 1800 gallons left?

Their computers know, sensors. The manager just prints up a receipt type paper and shows me the exact numbers. It can be requested anywhere as I understand it.

Man ... I don't even want to know how much a fill-up is on 100

It's not bad man, and it doesn't fluctuate like all the other fuel does. It's just a flat $5.00 a gallon, and has been for 10 years. I don't DD it so it doesn't hurt so much. and normal 91-93 Octane is slowly creeping up on that price so...

I see this all the time at my shop...More than likely u didnt tighten the cap all the way...Clear the code and drive it...If it return replace it with a DEALER cap, thats gonna be the cheapest fix...If it returns again then there's a leak in the EVAP system, when I looked up the code the EVAP purge solenoid may also be a suspect...Good Luck
