big brake kits suggestions/help
My car is making more power and I am needing to upgrade my brakes.
I am making 450 whp and 320 torque right now.
Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with any big brake kit?
Thanks.

I have the Wilwood 6 piston front calipers with 12.9" rotors and they seem to work ok. Alittle over kill for me. I haven't really had a chance to test them out either. I also did the rear with there single piston caliper and 12.9" rotors but mainly just for looks.
Hope that helps. Most might tell you to get new pads and brake lines though. So i hope you searched first.

The Mugen Active Gate kit uses the S2K brakes (11.1" X 25mm rotors). On a road course, the speed the OP is likely to see with his power is going to require something considerably bigger, for better heat dissipation. He might start with the 12.6" X 28mm Acura RL brakes, a good set of Carbotech pads, and proper ducting. Before my car was stolen, I was happy with my Legend GS 11.1 X 28mm brakes, but like most here, I wasn't making 1/2 the OP's power.
would replacing the stock rotors to brembo cross drilled rotors help out any for both the front and rear?
is it worth it at about $400?
or should i save up for a big brake kit?

Waste of money IMO. Just get blanks, fluid with a high boiling point, good pads and make some break vents.

If you don't drive it hard, stock brakes will suffice. For what I do, with that power I'd eventually get these: http://www.stoptech.com/Products/BBK/summary.shtml
Which is it?

and yes i am on stock motor putting down 450whp and 320 torque
i have looked into those stoptech brakes but they are quite expensive....
Boosted on stock internals. Got it.
If you're just drag racing, a good set of pads on the stock brake system should provide plenty of braking torque, and the rotors won't have to dissipate heat as quickly as if you were road racing. Also, I realize that most drag racers don't want to use >15" wheels, and you're likely not going to fit 15s over brakes much larger in diameter than stock.

Could always go with Rear drums and a 40/40 Proportioning Valve. I think they're more responsive with handbraking over rear discs as well. +1 for stopping power -1 for looks. Also try slamming on your brakes. If they lock up your brakes are overpowering your tires so you will not need to upgrade them if not then your tires are overpowering your brakes and you should upgrade or bump up the stopping power of the fronts and rears.
Carbotech AX6 is a great all-around pad. For most purposes, rotors costing anything > NAPA replacements is a total waste of $. For my track car I kept getting my [redrilled] Autozone rotors replaced annually under warranty. Can't beat free.

this guy knows what hes talking about. dont buy into those expensive aftermarket rotors. autozone rotors get the job done and theyre cheap.
