Default Best Method to Remove Alternator Pulley

I'm gonna put my stock pulley back on to replace the AEM underdrive pulley that I have on at the moment.

What the easiest way to remove the alternator pulley? I know I will need to remove the power steering and air conditioning belts in order to replace the alternator belt.

Would removing the driver side wheel help? Is there a way I can change pulleys without removing the alternator altogether?

Thanks.

well I remember the ghetto concept way we did it before..

undid all attaching belts...unbolted the alternator....and then faced the pulley towards the ground....
put on some thick gloves (to hold the pulley and keep it from spinning)... and used an impact gun and ripped that sucka off.....

threw the old/new one on held onto the pulley again with gloved hand..and gunned it back on.

No problems so far....juss get it on tight!!

Just be careful not to bend the pulley when taking it off. It can be pretty tough to take off sometimes. Aluminium can seize and can make taking off pretty difficult.

This is what I did with very good results. Didn't take very long either.

Ok...I will try this, as this time I have access to an impact gun.

After closer inspection, I will need a new belt for the alternator. Stupid me forgot to tag the stock belts...what is the belt size (part number) for the stock alternator pulley.

Thanks.

Unbolt the fuel Rail and then the alternator comes right out the top of the engine bay.. took it to a tire place and had them use an air wrench to break it loose.

Default We used a 32" Chromoly breaker bar...

...and that b*tch came off like it was greased

Yes, removing the driver's side wheel is the easier way to get access to it.

I'll ad one thing instead of holding it with a gloved hand, used the belt and pull it tight around the pulley. That holds it tight.

Thought I'd throw this on here cause I prefer hand tools for assembly and I am not able to use an impact at the junk yard. The shaft itself ends in either a 10 mm or 12mm so you can use a deepwell socket on it or a socket with an extension. The nut on the alternator is the same size as the O2 sensor so you can use an O2 sensor crowsfoot on that and voila! Didn't know this method before I pick this alt up from the junkyard, looks like someone already used an impact on it by the rounded corners on the nut.
