Default Another HyTech header thread

Should this header be coated if daily driven 300mi/week in the snow belt? Is HPC coating like Austin's a good idea? See here:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=171165

I can't decide. Now what about the HyTech exaust?

I'm also worried about running the O2 sensor too cold. See here:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=128056

I would greatly appreciate any info from people who actually have this system.
Thanks

hytech's latest production type r headers have different o2 sensor location compared to austin's. so the o2 sensor being too cold might not be a problem anymore.

The purpose of the coating is for heat retention - probably won't do much to protect from the elements.

I spoke to John regarding whether or not he felt it was worth it and his opinion was no. I doubt it would hurt to get the coating but I just figured I'd spend my money elsewhere.

Coating the header will help with protecting it from the elements. HyTech uses 304 stainless in his street header applications. I chose to coat the header because I wanted to reduce the underhood temperatures, the side benefits were that it retains the heat which leads to a small increase in the HP producted, and that I don't have to worry about rust.

The HPC Coating that I chose has a lifetime warranty, if there is any problems within the first 3 years the recoating is free, anytime after that and it's 50% of retail. I also called and spoke with all of the other companies, HPC were the ones that I chose due to their customer service, warranty, and value of the product.
