window motor help
My passenger side window motor went. I bought a replacement and still doesnt work. I hooked up the test light and it lights up in the up and down position. i put the window motor to the battery and it works fine, but when i plug it into the connector, nothing happens. i tried a motor from a 92 ls and the same thing happens too. why could this be?
If you have power for both up and down and motor is good, then there is no ground.
Simple test, unplug motor connector, connect up a 12V test light to the two leads of the plug, [it makes no diff. which wire the ground clip goes to or which one the probe goes to] rock the switch, the test light should light up either way, another way is to connect the test lights ground clip to 12V+ and use the probe on the two wires of the plug, test light should light up on both wires and go out when switch is rocked.
You can also use a multimeter to test for continuity to ground on the two leads of the plug.
Before you do anything else, make sure the "Main Switch", on the drivers door master control switch, is ((((ON)))), it is what supplies the ground to the pass. door window motor. 94
