up to 98 leather was only an option in a GSR, it became standard in 99+

hey speaking of the trunk latch... i just got mine (98 gsr w/ leather) . Ive owned 4 others but they were DA's. Is there not a way to unlatch it from inside the car? and my latch thingy in the back wont open the hatch... how does it work?

There is no lever or latch in the inside.
make sure your doors are unlocked and then move the lever.
If it dont work, try using your key and master the technique
of turning the key then turning the lever one right after the other.
