Where To Start??
OK… I just got a 1999 Acura Integra GS-R. Exiting I know
…anyway my question is where to start upgrading. I have about $3,000 for upgrading and I would like to start with the engine to amp up my HP. Any suggestions?

most people will reccomend you start with suspension..
But i will say, you need do decide exactly what you want.. Such as do you want to go forced induction such as turbo/nitrous/or supercharger? or do you plan on stayin Naturally Apirated. With 3000 bucks you can get a nice turbo kit for your car, but also you will def need to out in a clutch that will be able to handle the power that you will produce.. Either way, i say if your serious about adding more power, start with a clutch and flywheel upgrade. Then maybe suspension, then take it down either the Forced induction road or the N/A Road.

But first think about what you want, a scca car or a straight line car, if you want a scca car get tein coilovers, good tires, sway bars, rollcage and strut bars. or straightr line get a good turbo kit for like $3500. just my 2 cents but do what you wan't. this forum is mainly for tech not what upgrades you should do. just do what you like

man, if you've got $3K to burn and you've got a young b18c, then why the f**k not boost it!!!!!
you do want to go fast, don't you?
it's all about priorities: if you wanna spend your money to make it handle tight and have some jdm *bling* then don't go turbo, but as you said, hp gain is what you're aimng for right now. Spend $3K on the *psssssshhhhhhhhht*and you'll be running 13's easy.
As for upgrading the clutch first, you can always get the turbo kit, boost it starting at 8psi w/out a new clutch, you'll still be muuuch faster than stock, then as you keep upgrading it you can add a new clutch to boot

Yes, as a matter of fact I am only 16.
However, there isn’t an hour of my life that goes by where I’m not thinking about my new car and wishing I were driving it. When I’m inside, winding down a ravine, or whooping the *** off a Celica or a Miata, the only thing that comes to mind is that I wish I were going faster. Every night when I lie in bed and I hear some car accelerating down the street I dream that it was me inside. However, I know very very little about the workings of cars. All I ask is for a little help and explanation of where to get started in making my car faster and better.

adjustable giant aluminum wing for maximum downforce, a huge body kit with crazy aerodynamics to make you go faster, and lots of stickers to sport off your car. don't forget those neon lights on your rims and a hood scoop to get more air
w00t for searching.
and yes, you should spend $ on driving lessons to learn to control your car. 16 yr old driver thinking he can control his car + new GSR + lots of hp = well, u figure it out.
edit: btw, highland park??? what color, im in deerfield... where do u go to school?

First off, Get some security and learn to watch out for you gsr. If didn't know, they are stolen A LOT....that should be your first line of anything. I hope you have a garage or something. If not, worry about that before you worry about how fast your car goes, because before long you'll be wondering how fast someone else is driving you car
Its a shitty thing to think about. But its very true.
Second, I would honestly start with suspension. You right now are at an age where you shouldn't be modding the hell out of your car; especially since you say you don't understand cars all that well. Spend a ton of time on here just reading a ton of threads/posts, search through different types of forums and search. Also, hit up team-integra.net and read every article (you will learn a ton!!). Nothing can help you more then knowledge of your own vehicle and understanding it from top to bottom.
Once you got all that behind you and you understand more about your GSR. Then, you can start thinking about your power goals and what not. Save up your money and focus on different things right now, save as much as you can so that when your ready to start modding and you understand your car you'll have the money for it. I don't suggest going out and killing yourself or getting a ton of speeding tickets at age 16. Its not a good start to insurance and your life.
Now that Im done being your dad. Ill say....have a blast, its a fun car. learn its potential and find out as much as you can, I was once in your shoes, I did everything I stated above and its a night and day difference. Just follow that, and hopefully in a few years you'll have a turbo gsr that handles like its on rails...and last....you can handle the power and know what the can and cannot do

he won't have to worry about this too much, 19 years of living in this area and i haven't heard of 1 car theft. (we live in the same area) i leave my car unlocked with the keys in the ignition turned on with all the windows and sunroof open in the middle of a parking lot, no one's touched it. i haven't heard of any friends that have ever had things stolen, so don't frighten him too much about it. but a kill switch would also be nice
anyway im 19, i go to depaul, but i come home on the weekends a lot, i graduated from DHS last year

So maybe I’ll take some lessons before I go out and kill myself. First: where can I get some nice FWD lessons? Second: anyone know anything about the s2k antenna conversion. It sucks when your cars being looked at and you can’t have ur music blastin’ cuz you got a crap *** 2’ antenna sticken’ off your tail end.
yea the antennea is gay, but in the end its just an antenea, as far as lessons, just dont drive like a retard, take it easy and have fun, but dont push autocross style all over busy streets...thats called suicide
on second thought, sophmore in high school huh? just park that bitch in the garage with a cover on it for two more years, then have some fun
