when does VTEC enage on a B18C?
i just swapped a B18C into my '92 Si and the VTEC noise isn't near as loud as i thought it was going to be. i actually think it was a little louder on my old D16Z6.
my buddy just has a filter on a stick in his '99 Si and there's no question when the car switches to the VTEC lobe.
also... i've heard civic's with the same swap before, and you can hear the VTEC engaging on them, but not mine.
my car is definitely much faster, i just wondering if maybe i wired something wrong?
thanks a lot.

you should do a search, there are many topics related to this....
anyway....vtec engages at 4400 and the secondaries open at 5700....it's hard to hear the vtec at 4400 w/o exhaust or intake....unbolt your muffler at the axle and then you'll hear it....trust me...
you also need to be at operating temp. and have at least 50 psi of oil pressure....make sure that you got enough oil.....there's a way to test your vtec solenoid, do a search......peace
