WHEEL STUD QUESTION - emergency!
hey guys-
i have a 00 integra and one of the wheel studs on my front wheel snapped off. i need to replace it asap (dont like driving around on 3)...
my friend has a rear drum assembly from his 00 civic hatchback, and it is intact with wheel studs on it (he converted to rear disc brake). are the studs the same all around, and can i use them? or do i need to get integra-specific ones?
i know this question is pretty specific... i hope someone can help me.
thanks!

check the thread pitch, but they should be fine.
I don't know if it's worth your trouble pulling one from it when a new one is so cheap...

you think?
i dunno, we'll give it a go on sunday - he has the old one lying around... figured we'd see how it works pulling the old one off, that way we would know how to take my current one apart.
1) is it hard to replace a wheel stud?
2) how much is a new one?
thanks!

Replacing the stud is gonna be a biotch. You'll have to take the hub off the car and use a press to press out the bearing. Older hondas were way easier to swap studs but I've had at least three of mine break off over the past 3 1/2 years of owning my car. I usually take it to Goodyear or something because I don't know anyone with a press.

All Honda wheel studs are 12mm x 1.5 pitch. But not all Honda/Acura wheel studs are the same length.
FYI, when your studs are stripped or needs a good "cleaning," you can go and buy a die from PepBoys, or where ever, that is the specs above, and re-thread your wheel studs for the lugnuts. Works out great.

It's not hard at all if you've ever changed your own rotors. Thew new stud is like 2bux from the dealer at the most.

Well, on some knuckles there's room to pound the new stud in, but in most cases you need to press off the hub in order to get some room to press the new stud in, and then press the hub back on. But that's the "proper" way of doing it.... if you do it the "quick & easy" way, just rotate the hub until you have some room to knock out the existing stud and to hammer the new one in, w/out hitting the back of the knuckle.

so you can do this without removing the hub from the car? i just got some new rims and 2 of my studs are striped. i got new studs and lugs and i really dont have the $ to do this my self

On the FRONT of my '95 GS-R it was NOT possible. The hub has to be pressed out of the wheel bearing, which usually destroys the bearing.
