Default what's with the bumpy ride ???

i was entering a highway with barely any shoulder so i revved hard to merge. i dropped the clutch at around 5500rpm and shifted hard 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd. after i exited off the highway, i noticed at around 35-40mph the car was a tiny bit bumpy, as if the wheels were unbalanced. then by the end of the night, once the car was in motion, the ride was ridiculously bumpy. what the crap did i do? did i break an axle, a rotor, or what?!

please explain what you mean by "bumpy" ? Can you feel it in the steering wheel ? you need to describe the feeling a little better...

sounds like you could've maybe just thrown a wheel weight off and now they are out of balance...i've heard of that happening before...

I'm only posting this because it happened to my sister yesterday and my Teg today...

She called and complained of an incredibly horrible vibration at highway speeds. I had no idea, until I got on the highway myself this morning in my Teg and had similar vibrations. I got off the next exit and cleaned out the snow in and behind my wheels, around the brakes, etc. Got back on the highway, and was smooth as silk. I've driven for 7 years in new england now, and never had that happen, but it happened to me (in NH) and my sister (in NY) within 12 hours of each other, right after a big snow storm. Noticing that you're from NJ, it's worth a shot I guess.

nasty road vibrations usually indicate a worn inner CV joint or missing balance weight on the CV axle shaft.

You yourself should probably jack the car up and take the tires off. Look under there for any torn boots or bent axles or anything suspicious. Get back to us.
