I have a 94 GSR bone stock. My rear struts need replacing so I have decided to go ahead and get aftermarket struts and springs. Now my question is what should I go with? I drag race my car and also would like to start getting in to some road racing. What I am looking for is what spring rates I should go with and what setup would be best.

For road racing, I would first go with an upgraded rear sway bar, either an ITR, Comptech, or Suspension Techniques. For shocks and springs, koni yellows or tokiko illuminas (both are adjustable) will be good for shocks and ground control coilovers for springs. On my car, I have the ST sway bars, illuminas, and standard-rate ground controls and it's perfect. It's almost neutral with a touch of understeer, but can be tweaked for oversteer with the shocks. At my last outing to the strip, I set my shocks to full hard, and didn't have much wheel hop or much squatting off the line. It was pretty nice. HTH

 

About how much would some KONI yellows with GC springs run?

 

$600-800 for Koni Yellows and GC's.
