What sensor is this?

Argh, it came off my 91 LS OBD0... Now i have a 93 LS motor in it.. theres no place for it! where does it go? What does it do? And does anyone know where it goes on the newer obd1 LS motors?
its a coolent temp sensor for the fans
it senses the coolent tems in the engine and when the temp reaches a certain temp it will kick the fans on
i know this cuz this was what was causing my fans not to work and my thus making my car over heat

Just like rice ball said. It's a fan switch but on the OBD1 motors it's located on the thermostat housing. Extend the (OBD0 harnnes) wires from the harness and connect them to the fan switch on the thermostat housing.

Nope, no way that's knock sensor. It's most likely a coolant/temp sensor. What ECU are you using with your 93 LS motor? Any empty places in the block where it might go? If not, you either don't need the sensor with the newer motor or you will have to relocate it on the wiring harness. Keep looking

I think it's been established that it is a coolant sensor
. Yea, it is not in that location on OBD1 motors.
