I looked at some parts diagrams but there was no listing for the sensor sitting in the middle of the intake manifold. What is it?

 

That would be the evap soleniod.

What are the implications of not running it? Will the car run funny? CEL?

 

Why in teh **** would you not run it?

 

I just noticed that it looks like my motor shipped without it so Im wondering if the car will run right until I can replace it.

Yea its the Evap Solenoid.Basically it collects gas fumes and stores them in a charcoal canister right underneith your batt. area. Emissions check might look for it. I personally took mine off as well as the canister and lines. Runs the same...
