Default What the hell

I just got my integra back from the shop because i needed them to diagnose my engine. Pull it out and determine the damage, well i told them to put all the parts in the trunk and my freakin tranny is back there with my clutch and everything... why would you pull the tranny out to take the engine to the machine shop.. All of my shafts and joints are rusty like now... Here is a pic of my tranny's inside... what the hell, did they leave in the rain?

You can remove the engine from the engine bay without removing the tranny; although it does make it a lot easier to maneuver the engine with the tranny removed, but takes longer to get the engine fully out.

Yeah pretty much.

I dont think I understand the compliant. You're upset that the took your tranny out and put it in your trunk? Or are you upset that they left it in the rain?

I guess bottom line is: did they fix whatever was wrong with your car or did they make it worse?

Ok, just wanted to know if that was normal. Are there any tips in keeping it in good condition while it sits? Thanks for the replies.

All that dirty brown stuff you see on your transmission is not rust. It is dust from your clutch. And aluminum does not rust, it oxidize which I see no sign of too. If it was rust, you will see it on the splines of the input shaft not the bell housing.

That doesn't look like rust to me, it looks like dust from the clutch wearing, looks pretty normal to me.
