what head and block??help help
ok guys i need help,im not in a hurry but im going to do it.what would be a good block and head pieces to put together????my goal is to be able to rev at 8k+ with no problem and maybe bore it enough for a turbo later on.its going to be drag and street on sundays or when ever i feel like racing.i was thinking a gsr block but dont know what head will be better,do u think a ls is good?im open to any suggestion feel free to drop them. i am going to build with new internals maybe all skunk.its doing on a 91da,money is not a problem.......and whats the average prices for the head and block
either a GSR or ITR motor, dont waste time on LS vtec if money is no object and you are looking to boost later
Re reading this, i have a question. Do you come from a V8/american big block back ground?

NEVER NEVER NEVER i always had honda exept that i bought complete engines and put the parts on,now i decide to build my own ,and i never had so i had some question.so gsr block and head will do good?????
Actually the K20 is a real nice motor, and lots of parts arw comming out for them, like cams.
Reall do a search about the different motors. I know a lot of people will say the H22 is too heavy for the HP gains. The K20 is not that common yet, so you might run into some fitment issues. But if you have a shop that has done the K20 then you should not have any issues.
If not I still stick with GSR or ITR. There would be no reason to switch these heads around both are damn good motors. The ITR would be my choice if money was no worrie. Bettter flowing head just plain more HP. and the tranny has an LSD....etc lots of good reason to go with the ITR. It is a proven motor, there is a ton of support out there for it.

Pretty much any block will work for you, being that you can put pretty much any B series crank in pretty much any B series block and (with the appropriate pistons) come out with the displacement you want. Personally, I'd stick with either the PR3 or P72 block as you won't have to run an external oil line, and you won't have to modify the head at all.
Regarding the head, once again, PR3 or P72 depending upon what compression you want. The P72 uses more of a pentroof combustion chamber design as opposed to the PR3 and offers a bit more compression. I personally like ,to use the PR3 head and then look for the compression elsewhere.
Any of the engines can handle moderate boost on stock sleeves, but resleeving is smart either way.
