Default What ecu is this?

Could someone please identify this ecu for me. I bought it off of ebay as a stock obd1 p72, but of course it is not. I think it is a p28 or maybe a p14. Any help is appreciated.

The sticker on the chip said h23.

i'm no pro at ecu's but isn't an h23 a prelude motor? i wonder if it is an obd1 lude ecu...i was going to buy an obd1 p72 off ebay but some of the auctions seem a bit shady, with no good proof of what your getting.

oh, no i know you ment it is for a teg...why else would you want a p72 if you didn't have a teg motor with secondaries. i ment the sticker on the chip that says h23...isn't that a lude motor, making me think it is a lude ecu.

Yeah h23 is a lude motor which is why I thought it might be a p14.

ok, i'm doing more searching for you...i checked out hondatas site to see if a p14 can be chipped b/c they list most ecu's that can and it is not listed. also, if i'm not mistaken didn't one form of the preludes have a similar secondary setup in the intake manifold as the integra (h22 or h23, not sure, i dont know much about ludes)...still searching on that...your lucky i'm bored with nothing better to do than research ecu's lol. i'll let you know what else i find out but as of now, i think you were right in thinking it is a p14.

It's not a p13 (h22). It doesn't have a knock board so I think it's a p28. It does have a aftermarket chip in it.

Thanks for your help, but I'm 99% positive that it is a chipped p28 now. This ecu doesn't have any control over the secondaries, at least I could never hear them open when I tested it.

Don't knock yourself out or anything. Like I said I'm pretty sure it is a p28. Thanks again for your help.

The seller had good feedback from alot of people that had bought ecu's from him. Oh well I guess I'll just get the skunk2 mani.

I think I saw someone on this board that had a p72j for sale. If I see it again I'll let you know.

a skunk 2 manifold will solve your problem and gain you some power so that works i guess!

if you see a p72J please let me know, it seems like it's the only OBD1 ecu that will work for me being that i have a JDM motor (SIR-G B18C) which doesn't have all the sensors US cars use and it is the only JDM ecu with secondary control that can be chipped.

There is one for sale on ebay. The seller has 98% feedback with 333 transactions.

I can't find the one on ht though. I'll keep looking.

that's odd, that's listed as a regular jdm p72 not a p72j and i was told you can't chip jdm p72's only jdm p72j's. it also has no mention of what the secondary control is at. i'd also like a stock one for now or a mild chip b/c i'm not running crazy mods YET hehehe...after i go obd1 i'll start with cams and such then a chip. i was thinking of going with the skunk 2 chip though and tuning with my vafc since my valvetrain will be all skunk 2 down the road...ah well, the search continues.

What about a p30j? No secondaries, but it's an option.
