start with the suspension..get some lowering spring or if you have the money..get coil overs

H&R Springs + Koni's..
or whatever springs you like

Yea the first thing I would do is lower it with some good springs/coilovers and get some rims and tires, before doing any engine stuff at all

well I agree with the suspension thing, but as to whatever is next, we need to know what kinda goals you want for your car. Do you want speed? if so, a turbo kit would compliment that b18b very nicely. Do you just want it to look nice? if thats the case, definately some rims and tires. And if you want it to handle a lot better, upgrade the suspension.. Sways, maybe some traction bars to eliminate wheel hop..

we just need to know your goals
welcome to the car world.

Maybe an Ls-Vtec conversion. If you want to keep it an Ls though, maybe do internals with a valvetrain upgrade and some head work.

id suggest getting the koni/gc combo for suspension, maybe some rota wheels just because they look nice and are pretty cheap. Then you'll have to start doing internal work.. do stuff to up the compression a little bit. Maybe get some Type R cams.. And are you familiar or ever heard of an lsvtec? Its kinda costly but itll help your ls engine out quite a bit. do a search on that.

if you want speed/power without a turbo then you gotta motor work, I would start with throttle body, intake man., injectors, then do head work or lsvtec, valve job, cams, springs, port/polish. ur lookin at big money with all that though and its not gonna give you nearly the gains that a turbo would.

remember this: power = money, if you dont want to spend the money you dont power that bad. I only say that cuz every noob I talk to ask's me "how can I make my car way fast with like 200 bucks" uhh.... you cant.

Throttlebody, intake manifold, and injectors are pretty much going to do absolutely nothing on an otherwise stock engine. The intake manifold might make a noticable but small difference but there's a lot better things you can spend that money on instead. For power I would suggest starting out with cams and a tune, with Uberdata if you can.

*Edit - you can search for 'Uberdata' and find a ton of info about it if you're wondering what it is
