What to do with this hose?

When I was changing my oil today I noticed that the previous owner had connected the hose that goes from the valve cover to the intake arm with electrical tape. I took off the electrical tape and saw that was the only thing connecting the two. I tried fitting the hose over the fitment on the intake arm but the hose diameter is too small, so I just put some duct tape on it to hold it and refastened the clamp. I'll probably end up getting an intake for the car anyway, but how am I supposed to connect it otherwise?
i have to do something like that w/ the skunk 2 intke manifold install i did. The stock metal tube that goes in there is rippin out the plastic from the intake arm, that seems like a good idea to fix the prob.

Um, there is supposed to be a metal tube that is actually 2 tubes welded together. One is for the valve cover breather, and the other is for coolant. I hope you have something in place to carry the coolant normally carried by the metal tube.

I think just getting a larger diameter silicon hose would be a lot easier.

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get something like a ~5/16" barbed union fitting (barbed ends on both sides) to join the two. Try a few different sizes. Hose clamp them down to seal properly.
Or, if you want, I think we've got a spare stock metal thingy laying around that you can pretty much have. It'll require a little bit of thoughtfulness on your part to either separate the PCV tube from the coolant tube or find a way to arrange it so it doesn't damage anything if you don't want to reroute the coolant lines as they are right now.

I thought this hose was for excess oil from the valve cover.

It is a breather valve for the valve cover, to take in air. the reason that it is attached to the intake tube is so it takes in fresh, flitered air. I fit were an oil overflow it would be puoring oil into your intake tube and into your throttle body. You need to modify these things when you use a cai. I believe that you are suppost to link the two coolant lines together, or find a two metal hoses that can from the factory. Sorry I do not have a picture of it.

So it is hooked up wrong then? Rather then going out and snapping another pic here is a pic of which hose I have connected. The top left one is the one I have duct taped to the intake arm.
